HHPNetwork plans and throws community health fair in low-income communities across the U.S., where access to adequate health care remain a major challenge. Our health fair program is an educational and interactive event we designed to provide basic preventive medicine and medical screening to low-income individuals and families. We believe healthy communities are more likely to achieve well-being and socioeconomic progress.
Our main goal is to reduce common health disparities affecting millions of Americans, so they improve their health by seeking treatment for their illness in timely manner, and at the right place. Moreover, we teach them skills and provide them with tools needed to not fall ill from preventable diseases and risky behaviors. According to the American Public Health Association (APHA), these common health disparities include
• Racial or ethnic health disparities
• Socioeconomic health disparities
• Gender health disparities
• Rural health disparities
These health disparities are even more prevalent among individuals with low education level where lack of education on how the health system operates further reduces their access to adequate health care. To address this problem in a sustainable fashion, our organization has made health education a major focus. Overall, health education impacts many areas of wellness within a community; they include but not limited to
Chronic disease awareness and prevention
Tobacco use and substance abuse
Injury and violence prevention
Mental and behavioral health
Nutrition, exercise and obesity prevention
Regarding our approach to healthcare, which is grounded in education to improve and maintain one’s health in a sustainable manner, we don’t throw a health fair and then dis appear. For maximum impact on health improvement in the target communities, we de-velop a partnership with the program recipients to monitor and evaluate their progress. In so doing, we have enough information and important data to address the issue at hand as needed.

In the US we prioritize Heal Fair while our main focus in Haiti is to provide its rural communities with access to basic health care through medical mission trips on a regular basis.
In both Haiti and the US, the primary focus of our organization is preventative healthcare education. We believe it is the best approach to improving community health is in a sustaible manner.
